Now it’s time for EURO 2020. Do you remember England getting knocked out in 2016 by Iceland with half of the Nordic footballers playing in amateur leagues? There are always underdogs in every tournament to remind us football is a game full of surprises. Two of the most successful underdogs of all time in Euros are Denmark in 1992 and Greece in 2004 that beat every team they crossed paths with and won the trophy. Stick around, we’re gonna talk about the three biggest underdogs of Euro 2020 and suggest some bets.
Unlucky Hungary
Hungary is probably the most unlucky team of the tournament. Imagine doing your best to qualify for the Euro cup and then you have to face Germany, Ronaldo’s Portugal and France, the World Cup winners. You call it bad luck, right? In this Hungarian team there are no stars and teamwork should be their greatest asset. Their opening game is against Portugal (odds on Betwinner are 8.5 (1), 4.6 (X), 1.41 (2). While Portugal to win the game (1.47) seems the most probable result another bet that is worth looking at is Hungary to lose all of the games which you can find it at 2.7 on Betwinner.
Fear of North Macedonia
Can they shock the world again with a victory against a big team? It’s their first time in a Euro Cup and in order to win their place they had to beat Georgia in the knockout stage. And they did it against the odds with a goal from Goran Pandev – Champions League winner with Mourinho’s Inter – in Tbilisi. Can they go far in this tournament? They beat the Germans 2-1 in a friendly game and shocked the football world. Plus, their group is not as tough as Hungary’s, facing the Netherlands, Ukraine and Austria. It looks almost impossible to go through the next round, but more realistic bets are a draw or win against Austria (double chance: 2.14) or Ukraine (double chance: 2.3).

Finland: the new Iceland
Can they be the underdog of the tournament? They’re also debutants and have done a great job in the qualifications, finishing second behind Italy and edging out competitive opponents like Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina. They are in the same group with Denmark and Russia – they both usually make it in big tournaments- and De Bruyne’s Belgium. The star of the team is Pukki, a Norwich player whose 26 goals helped his team to get promoted to the Premier League again. Another player to watch from Finland is Glen Kamara from Rangers who won the Scottish league this year. A good bet perhaps is to bet against Russia’s clean sheet (1.91 on Betwinner).
